Tired of having tenants who only rent for one year then not renew for the next year?

As the top residential management company in Ventura, we can tell you that one of the keys to success with getting your tenants to renew their leases each year is tenant appreciation.

In this article, we will share with you several tips you can use to start showing your tenants that you care about them and are willing to take the extra steps necessary to show them that you don’t see them as just another renter.

The following tips can be used regardless if you own single family homes or multi-family properties:

Have A Tenant Appreciation Week

Choose one week that you can declare as your “Tenant Appreciation Week”. When this week arrives you should use each day of the week to surprise your tenants and do little things that will show them how much you appreciate their business.

What can you do to surprise your tenants? They can be anything from simple things like gift cards to local stores, coffee, and doughnuts, or useful care packages that will show your tenants that you’re thinking about them and care about their well being.

Host A Spring Cleaning Event

Spring cleaning is something that everyone is interested in and having a spring cleaning event will encourage your tenants to keep their rental properties clan and tidy.

To make spring cleaning easier for your tenants you could rent a U-Haul or moving truck and offer to come to pick up anything that they are donating and deliver those items to your local Goodwill or thrift store yourself.

Celebrate The Latest Football, Baseball, Basketball Or Sports Season

Sports seasons are always the perfect time to bond with tenants and renters. Everyone has their favorite sport so there’s plenty of opportunities for you to reach out and connect with them.

Consider throwing regular viewing parties at local sports bars or your destination of choice so you can connect with fellow sports fans and share with them something that you’re passionate about.
