Landlord Tips – What Should You Change After Buying Condos for Rent in San Jose

February 15, 2019

Are you planning on buying condos and listing those condos for rent in San Jose?…

Are you planning on buying condos and listing those condos for rent in San Jose? If so, even though you may want to list those properties for rent right away, you should always replace several things in each condo first before you list those rental properties online.

Replace the Toilets

Always replace the toilets in your condos for rent because, you never know how old those toilets really are, and a leaky toilet can cost you hundreds of dollars more per year in water bills (if you’re paying the water bill yourself) but what’s even worse is that a leaky toilet can also cost you significant money in water damages so it’s best to replace them now before problems occur.

Replace Electrical Outlets

Another important thing to replace in your condos are the light sockets because outdated electrical outlets pose the biggest fire hazards because they are not equipped to handle today’s electrical devices.

You should also replace outdated electrical outlets because today’s modern outlets come with USB ports built into them so that your tenants can have more options for charging their portable devices.

Replace Light Bulbs

Even though the previous owner may have replaced the light bulbs in the condos, you should always replace the light bulbs after purchasing a new rental property because this will save you the time and hassle of getting calls from tenants about burned out light bulbs later on.

Replace Outdated Light Fixtures

Besides potentially being a fire hazard in your rental property, outdated light fixtures also look old and should be outdated because they are often the first things that people see when they tour a rental property.
